| The AOL Browser Fix: You may
have noticed that using the default settings, the AOL Browser looks terrible,
especially if you use it to view high quality graphics such as fractal art or any other
art / graphic files.
The reason for this is that the default settings
of the AOL browser uses compressed graphics.
I assume the motive is that it loads images faster,
but I've never been able to notice a decrease in speed when compression is turned off.
The increase in graphics quality by changing to view uncompressed graphics, however,
is worth it.
Here's how you fix it to look it's best:
1. Open AOL ( I'm assuming everyone is using AOL 4.0 here )
2. Select "My AOL" at the top
3. Select Preferences / www / web graphics
4. "Uncheck" the box labeled "Use Compressed Graphics"
That's it! You're now going to see the web the way it was
meant to be seen!
Hopefully AOL will and set the default of this feature to "uncompressed"
in it's next build of the software.
